This academic course is an exploration of the history and development of Islam in Europe and its implications for European society and the Church. The focus is on understanding Muslims in Europe and how to interact with them.

Structure

The course covers topics like:

The background of Islam in Europe;
How Islam has developed in Europe over the centuries;
What kinds of Muslims are there in Europe?
Which currents exist within Islam in Europe?
How can we deal with Muslims as good Christians?
How can we deal with our fear of Muslims?

The course is particularly helpful for Christians whose ministry brings them in daily contact with Muslims. This course is suitable for theological educational institutions where it can be part of the curriculum. The course book is digital and will only be made available to students during the course. There is also an exam available that can be taken for credits. The training can be given on location.
