Each lesson contains film fragments and discussion questions. There is plenty of room for group discussion. Each lesson ends with a homework assignment to be done between classes. The lessons can be done (bi)-weekly. The lessons are written for groups but can also be followed online individually.

The first two lessons are Bible studies on fear and grace to bring about a change in attitude. The attitude towards Muslims is often based on fear. After fear has been brought into the presence of the Almighty God, rest and peace begins to find a place and one can approach the other with an attitude of grace. In this Bible study you will receive an explanation about grace from the bible and how to apply it to the Muslims you come in contact with.
The third lesson provides background information about Islam. It contains basic information about what Muslims believe about Islam, the history of Muslims and Islam, the most important doctrines and different streams within Islam.
The fourth lesson is a meeting with Muslims. Usually by visiting a mosque. After the theory has been discussed we can ask question about how this works out in practice.
Each lesson is ready-made and is supported with videos, power points and assignments. The assignments are submitted for each lesson and personally graded, after which you can proceed with the course.
If you as a group or individual decide to follow it online, you can register via the Sharing lives training site Sharing LivesThe videos in the online course are English spoken with subtitles in several languages. You don’t necessarily need to buy the book for the online course.

What I gained most from this course is that Islam is not a solid block, the same for everyone, but a Muslim is a human being of flesh and blood, for whom Islam has a personal meaning.
